Opportunities for all
We are committed to providing children with a wide range of opportunities that enhance their learning, broaden their experiences and support their personal development. Through educational visits, visitors to school and a variety of extra-curricular activities, children are encouraged to explore new interests, develop their talents and make meaningful connections with the world around them.
In line with the Department for Education’s Enrichment Framework, we aim to ensure that all children have access to a rich and varied programme of experiences that promote wellbeing, build confidence, develop character and foster a sense of belonging. Our enrichment offer includes opportunities for creativity, physical activity, leadership, community engagement and cultural experiences, helping children to discover their strengths and interests both within and beyond the classroom.
These experiences form an important part of school life at Hempland, helping to inspire curiosity, raise aspirations and create memorable learning opportunities that support every child to thrive.
Trips and visits calendar
The tabs below outline the trips, visits and activities planned throughout the academic year for each year group, together with an indication of the expected costs. We hope this information helps parents and carers plan ahead for the opportunities their children will enjoy during their time at Hempland.
Specific trips, activities and costs vary from year to year and will always be confirmed with parents and carers in advance. Wherever possible, we aim to keep costs affordable, with activities priced at cost and, where funding allows, subsidised by the school to help ensure that all children can benefit from these opportunities.
Payment plans can be arranged for higher-cost activities, and families who may need additional support are encouraged to contact the school in confidence to discuss the help that may be available.

School clubs and activities
We believe that every child should have the opportunity to participate in the wider life of the school. Clubs, activities and enrichment opportunities help children develop new skills, build confidence, make friendships and discover new interests.
We offer a range of free and paid-for clubs and activities throughout the year. Wherever possible, we aim to ensure that cost is not a barrier to participation and may be able to offer support to families who need it.
If you would like to discuss support with the cost of a club or activity, please speak to the school office or BEACON Champion in confidence.

Events, celebrations and fundraising
We recognise the important role that school events, celebrations and fundraising activities play in broadening horizons, building cultural capital and creating lasting memories. We are committed to making these experiences as inclusive, accessible and affordable as possible by reducing hidden costs and removing financial barriers to participation wherever we can.
We will keep the cost of school events, celebrations and fundraising activities as low as possible, promoting creative and affordable ways for every child to take part. We want to ensure that fundraising is always inclusive and voluntary, with donations welcomed but never expected. Our aim is to create opportunities that bring our school communities together while ensuring that financial circumstances are never a barrier to participation.
To help families plan ahead, you can find our annual programme of fundraising events and activities, together with indicative costs below.
