As an academy, we still have a governing body, now known as the LGC or Local Governing Committee. Much of the work of the school is delegated from the MAT trust board to the LGC. Governors play a key role in ensuring that the school runs smoothly, effectively and provides good value for money. They hold the Headteacher accountable for the performance of the school – from progress of individual pupils to managing deployment of staffing and resources.

Governors can be contacted via school.

Business Interests: I’m the Priest in charge for four local churches including St John the Baptist church at Haddlesey. I grew up in East Yorkshire but have moved parishes a few times – even as far as my last post in rural Leicestershire! Throughout my 26 years of ministry I have always held some form of Governor role and enjoy working with local schools. Prior to my ministry, I have worked for an engineering company based in Leeds, in a museum and lived on community in the Yorkshire Dales. I’m married to Sue, we have two grown up children and a dog called Alfie. I love music – listening and playing, walking on the beach and relaxing with a single malt.

As a mum to a four-year-old daughter, I see every day how much our school community shapes her world. It’s incredibly important to me that all children feel valued, safe, and a true sense of belonging. In my full-time role as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, I work closely with schools to ensure children’s wellbeing is at the centre of everything we do. I’m excited about the opportunity to bring my passion, experience, and commitment to the Pathfinder Multi Academy Trust, supporting our schools to be the very best they can be for every child.

I’m pleased to be joining the governing board, having previously served as a governor at another primary school. I work as an internal auditor, specialising in risk management, assurance and governance, and I’m also a chartered accountant. I value having a range of skills around the table and look forward to contributing from a financial, risk and governance perspective.

Life is busy with two young children, two cats and a lovely group of Indian runner ducks. Outside of work I enjoy floristry, travel, family time and being outdoors, and I’m also a divemaster scuba diver. I’m looking forward to getting involved with the school community and returning to governance now that my own children are starting their school journey.
